About Mary Willard:
Mary Willard's Personal Connection to Professional:
I was born, raised, and transferred in the military...(yes, that is what the military term "brat" stands for), and married Michael Willard, who was raised on a ranch in rural Kansas...a road less traveled, to say the least! After our wedding, we drove directly to Colorado, where we settled in rural America for the first half of our marriage. I have enjoyed my view of the world, and believe my military agricultural base has offered a worthy road of travel for a happy, fulfilling life!
In the late 80's, I intuitively felt that I may need to contribute financially toward my family livelihood. I was compelled to complete my bachelor degree; and soon thereafter, enrolled in classes taking 105 semester hours over the next 2-1/2 years, driving 75 miles one-way every day from my country home in Yuma County to Regis University and Northeastern Jr. College in Sterling, Colorado. During that time, I was taking my Associate of Arts courses simultaneously with my major course of study at Regis. My first semester of study included a required course in Logic, where I learned the five steps of problem solving. As my studies progressed, I began to notice a cyclical connection with my study of Logic, which introduced the necessary, ordered steps of solving a problem.... It seemed like every decision in my life was better served when connected to the Five Ordered Steps of Problem Solving. Step One: Define the Correct Problem, Step Two: Brainstorm Solutions, Step Three: Evaluate Alternatives...wait for the "Aha", Step Four: Act, Step Five: Evaluate.
